Bringing Windows 98 Into The Present, Is It Possible

     This video is about bringing Windows 98 into the present with update enhancements including running from a Compact Flash card with a compact flash to IDE adapter. Safe surfing the net and email and other Internet related things with a frugal install of Puppy Linux which installs in a Windows folder without partitioning your hard drive. Also an installed 98 system running 98 Unofficial Service Pack, 98SEME, and Revolutions Pack.

If your Windows 98 sound hardware does not work in DOS with DOS games you need to install DOSBOX and run them from DOSBOX. To get DOSBOX to work in Windows 98 you need to put this in you Autoexec.bat file.
You can install Puppy Linux by burning the ISO file to a CD. If you need to install it from a USB stick you need a program to burn it to USB such as ETCHER which you can get here.

If your PC is not able to boot from a USB stick then you can use PLOP boot manager by burning it to CD and it will enable you to boot from a USB stick. Get it here.

     A Compaq Deskpro EP factory Windows 95 factory software restored. 4.3gb hard drive, cdtom, Diamond viper V550 video card, Compaq Soundblaster 128, modem & 3com network card. This PC ran a hospital nurse call system 20 years without being shut down other than when I shut it down every few years to blow out the dust and replace the UPS battery. It ran faithfully  all those years never shutting down as it was connected to an emergency power generator circuit.
